Well done, Anne, and thanks for posting, Toddie! Now if I misplace my notes from that day (or if they're not as thorough as I'd hoped), I know where to go for all the pertinent (and astute) points from this memorable workshop. I really want to answer all the questions from that branding list in the book on marketing for designers. (Maybe we need a mini-workshop for that? ;) See you on LinkedIn!

An independent web designer designed it for me. If you go to http://www.themolitor.com/, you can contact him directly with the layout questions. Good luck!

The title of the novel is 'Browns Backer', which evidently, and you probably know this, is the name of the Cleveland Browns' fan club. I Googled 'Mr. Allen', as well as 'Browns Backers', but found no hint of who the guy is. I imagine the Faulkner Society went to far greater lengths than I, and no luck.

Wow. Being a Cleveland native, that actually sounds like a book I'd enjoy. I hope it turns up.

Story of interest. I met Julia Glass in November of 2008 at the Faulkner Conference. She was very personable and easy to talk to. That year she judged the Novella category (Her novel, Three Junes, won the Faulkner as a Novella about ten years earlier and got her career started), and when she introduced the prize she said that she never imagined she'd like a book about a bunch of rowdy, alcoholic football nuts, but she got so involved with these Cleveland Browns fans who traveled to Pittsburgh to watch their beloved team when all went to hell. She actually cried on the podium. But part of what makes this so interesting is that they could not locate the author and winner, James Earl Allen. Perhaps the author died, who knows? The prize, $2,500 plus a lot of recognition, not bad, so it seems odd that neither he nor a family member has claimed the prize. As of now the novel sits lost and may never see publication.

I'm still on the fence about the Kindle. Now that Barnes & Noble have their version coming out this month I think. I may have to read some more articles to see which is best. but thanks for the info.
